New guideline on indirect discharges available

A new guideline on how to survey and monitor indirect discharges into public sewer system has been finalised by Component 3 of the WMP.

This guideline is supposed to give assistance on the monitoring of indirect dischargers particularly for those wastewater companies that are about to commence the operation of their newly constructed wastewater treatment plants.

screenshot_new_guidlinesNo satisfying effluent quality can be expected if conditions on the “input side” of a treatment plant are neglected. Surveying and monitoring wastewater producers is crucial for a stable and sound treatment process, and hence for the sake  of public health and environmental protection.
